I am well.

Today is equal pay day, according to the Fawcett Society, today is the day that,

“is the date when, based on average earnings, women start working for free until the end of the year.”

The hourly gender pay gap for the UK on Equal Pay Day which this year is 10.7% marginally down from last year.

The gender pay gap disproportionately affects Black Women and Women of Color.

These are sobering facts, today I want to focus on female empowerment and what you can do for yourself.

I'm going to share with you a small story about confidence and asserting your boundaries.

Today, I'm pumped about helping women to build their confidence and to start to make in-roads to equal pay, because you can't wait for the system to change, you need to step up and ask for what you want.

I shared my post on LinkedIn to highlight the gender and ethnicity pay gap. Which you can view HERE. A lady commented on my post clearly using it to advertise her coaching community, and normally I would just ignore it. Today, I decided to respectfully call it out and share why I don't believe she was making a contribution to the discussion.

Would you have just ignored it?

Speaking up and advocating for yourself is an important skill to develop and to keep flexing.

Because Ladies, we have the power to assert how we wish to be treated, what we deem to be acceptable and what is not. The only way people will know is if you use your voice and you communicate that to them.

Confidence is a state of being that requires us to build trust and belief in ourselves.

It's an exciting time to choose to become your own cheerleader, to use your voice, share your story, and make your impact.
