Who's your biggest competitor?

Dear Wonderful Woman,
I hope you're well.
As an election has just been fiercely contested. It got me thinking about, who do you compete against? Are you focussed on yourself? Or are you focussed on "being better than somebody else"? I would advocate that you try and be the "best You possible". That you concern yourself with competing for "You" and your own personal development. What do I mean by this? I mean that you look at yourself and you consider the following:
Am I competing to reduce my own fears.
Am I competing to step forward and speak up for myself.
Am I competing to complete my own personal goals.
Am I competing to accept myself.
Am I competing to make "Failure" less total for myself.
Am I competing to become my own cheerleader!
When I consider the competitions that I've been in as a runner, I wasn't much concerned with winning the race. I was much more concerned with attaining my own goal, whether that was achieving a time goal, sportsmanship and helping other runners along or practising in the pursuit of another running goal. Sure it's great to compete and win! I believe, believing in yourself and working to win yourself over is a pursuit that you should consider when you think about what being competitive is about. Yes - I'm going to go there, you should work towards self-acceptance and loving one's self. Because in learning to be kind to yourself you are able to open your mind to many more new possibilities.
