When you get poked what do you do? 🀨🀨🀨

Dear Wonderful Woman & Allies,

Happy Monday! πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸŽ‰

How are you doing? I'm good thanks! πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

I hope you had a great weekend.

On Friday I was at a meeting with some people I'd met for the first time for a cause I care passionately about.

At the meeting, the Meeting Leader gave me some feedback, which made me think and triggered me a little.

He said, the way I was communicating was too verbose and it would be helpful if I slimmed it down and was more direct.

This gave me a flashback to where I used to be with my writing, my so-called bad old days!

Sure he on the one hand did have a point and on the other hand, he didn't know the deep experience and knowledge from which I was speaking.

Here's the thing, I reverted to some of the old ways, I didn't tell him from the place from which I was speaking in the meeting. 😒😒😒

I decided to play small and let him have the upper hand. 😳😳😳

I took some time to reflect and to think about what happened and talk to a friend.

After speaking to a friend, I realised what I needed to do.

I needed to turn that pain to purpose.

To not play small.

I decided that I would turn up the heat, and my visibility and show from which the knowledge I was speaking came in an eloquent post. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

You may have had a similar experience.

What do you do when you're in a meeting and someone gives you feedback, which in part is true but in other parts isn't grounded in the reality of your expertise?

Today I want to remind you that:

All feedback isn't equal

To be discerning about the feedback that you listen to

Not to play small when you get triggered

And to remember that -

You are the Prize! πŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸŽ‰

By the same token putting yourself out there on LinkedIn and being more visible on LinkedIn is a risk.

Many think it's a chore and it's not something they do with open arms, joy or any sort of enjoyment.

Well what if you changed the narrative to:

I get to use LinkedIn to further my visibility, to create opportunities for me, for the people and things I care about.

When you think about LinkedIn through the lens of the realm of possibilities, it creates space to be open to attract, to be your best self and to receive what is out there when you're in alignment.

Now that is sounding perhaps a bit woowoo, but then if "you are what you think, do and don't".

It's in the don't....

The fear.....

The lack space.....

That self-doubt & Imposter Syndrome live.

So with the opportunity of the last quarter of the year, I urge you to think about these 3 questions:

1 How visible am I being on LinkedIn on a scale of 1-10? 10 being BeyoncΓ© confident!

2 What feedback do I really need to act?

3 Who can help me unpack feedback and see it from a different perspective?

If you want to level up your personal brand, and visibility, to attract paid opportunities via your LinkedIn profile, I'd be delighted to help with you that.
