Recession Proof Your Mind

Dear Wonderful Woman,
How are you doing?
I hope you're well. - Doh just realised this did not send yesterday! 🤦🏾♀️
Today I feel blessed that I don't have a TV out of choice. At first I wasn't sure about it and thought I'd miss it, or get way too much FOMO for me to handle. And then it's become a way of life. And that's not to say that I'll never get one again, but for now it suits my lifestyle.
And to the topic in hand "Recession Proofing Your Mind".
Be conscious and intentional about how much news you consume or news alerts that you read because, we all know "the NEWs is mostly BAD News" even when times are good and we're not in a recession.
In a recession is really important to think about what you consume in your mind, think in your mind and believe about what's within your control.
And to this point I'm going to share something I shared with a corporate client in July in a session on Stress and Resilience.
Use the ABC Technique
The ABC technique was also originally created by psychologist Dr. Albert Ellis and was later adapted by Martin Seligman.
The letters ABC stand for:
A – adversity, or the stressful event.
B – beliefs, or the way that you respond to the event.
Then C – consequences, the result of your beliefs lead to the actions and outcome of that event.
The more able you are to give a positive explanatory style, the more optimistic your beliefs the greater likelihood your perspective on the outcome is positive and solutions focussed.

Hit reply and let me know do you think your explanatory style uses the ABC technique for optimism?
Have a wonderful day ahead.
Warm Regards,
Ekua 💛
