Today I am thinking about navigating the job market and being an employee in tough economic times and what you can do to be resilient and create opportunities even in tough times.


These are my top 2 Secrets for navigating your career in tough economic times:


1 Believe that you can Handle anything that happens in your career and setbacks do not define you


Tough economic times can test us and make us go into scarcity thinking and believe that there aren't opportunities out there. Adopting the right mindset in terms of accepting yes, market conditions may be tough, but that doesn't mean there aren't opportunities. This a time to really use your network to seek advice, and referrals and to ask them to keep an eye out and to pass on any opportunities that are relevant to you.


Tip: Adopt a growth mindset, and be proactive in daily positive mindset practices that support you to seek solutions and have gratitude for what you have. πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ’ͺπŸΎπŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ’ͺπŸΎπŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ’ͺπŸΎπŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ’ͺπŸΎπŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ’ͺ🏾


2 Practice Gratitude


Tough economic times can make us feel that there isn't much to be cheery about, and totally feel how you feel, but don't live in a pit of negativity! That doesn't serve you. Give yourself grace and the opportunity to see all the great things that you already have in your life and in your career.


Tip: Write down 3 things your grateful for daily in or journal or a voicenote. Taking the time to pause and recognise what you already have helps you to see the bigger picture and to build your resilience. And remember you're not alone, reach out to a friend, or spouse and let them help you be reminded of all the great things you have despite your current circumstance. β€οΈπŸ€—πŸ’ͺπŸΎβ€οΈπŸ€—πŸ’ͺπŸΎβ€οΈπŸ€—πŸ’ͺπŸΎβ€οΈπŸ€—πŸ’ͺπŸΎβ€οΈπŸ€—
