Have you secured your legacy?

Dear Wonderful Woman,

How are doing?

I'm doing great!

I always used to think that I would be able to create a lasting legacy once "I'd made it".

That was false thinking and a FALSE belief. πŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜”

I have published my Book, Be Your No.1 Cheerleader, which is a motivational self-help book which helps you to be the CEO of your career and your life to live a positive and successful life. πŸ˜πŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ˜πŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ˜πŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ˜πŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ˜πŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ˜πŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ˜πŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎ

And I thought that this book would be my legacy until recently.

I recently pivoted and have become a LinkedIn Coach and feel in flow.

I have been thinking BIGGER and at different levels. 🀩πŸ”₯🀩πŸ”₯🀩πŸ”₯🀩πŸ”₯🀩πŸ”₯🀩πŸ”₯🀩πŸ”₯🀩πŸ”₯🀩πŸ”₯🀩πŸ”₯🀩πŸ”₯

So when I was in the shower that day I came up with an idea for writing 2 LinkedIn Books it didn't surprise me! 🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩🀩

What did surprised me was the idea I had about giving back and creating an even bigger lasting legacy.

In the past when I would have had an idea like that I would have:

πŸ˜” Dismissed it

πŸ˜” Not acted on it

πŸ˜” Thought who I am to dare to want to think my ideas are worthy of handing down from generation to generation

πŸ˜” I'm not there yet, so no-one will want to do this with me

And the list of why not could go on................

Instead, I decided to do something different. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

The first charity that I wanted to help I knew they would be attending Black Inclusion Week.

I decided to speak with them to float the idea and see if there was any interest.

We had a 1-2-1 to discuss my idea and whilst Charity 1 was receptive they had a different idea about delivery which I was open too.

I am not naming the charities until it has been formally accepted by both of the proposed charities.

You can find out more about my idea to leave a lasting legacy and work with young people to improve their employment prospects and to learn to use LinkedIn for Career Success. HERE

Before I go today, I want to share a story about how LinkedIn can change the trajectory of your Career and your life.

I have been wanting to work with a BIG 4 UK consulting firm and with their Black Employee Network.

I am connected to the Chair of that ERG and we have exchanged messages we have been due to meet for a while however I just have not been getting any traction with his PA.

I decided to take matters into my own hands!

I noticed that his company and network were holding their summer party and they were raising money for a young person's employability charity.

I got a ticket to the event and made it my mission to meet this man!!!

I met him and now have a meeting in June with him to talk about collaboration opportunities. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

I could have so easily given up because I did as he asked me and "the system" wasn't making it happen.

I want to encourage you Ladies, to stay in the game, be creative and ask for help!
