Dear Wonderful Woman,

How are you doing?

I'm well.

It's coming to that time of year where many companies and organisation's hold an annual performance review. It's an opportunity for you to showcase all of your incredible work!

And it's time to see if you can gain a financial reward or find out the next opportunity to do so within your companies performance and rewards structure.

In this newsletter, I'll be focussing in on how to prepare for your performance review and sharing 3 tips to prepare for your performance review. See below:

1 Review your Job Description

Before your performance review, dig out a copy of your job description and the objectives that you agreed in the last year. Check against your objectives and job description and where you are meeting, exceeding, or have taken on additional responsibilities that are not in your current job description. It's always good to go in with documented evidence so that you can make the case for additional compensation or reward.

2 Gather your Accomplishments - Be Your Own Cheerleader!

Before your performance review meeting, review your objectives and gather your evidence of how you've meet, or exceeded your objectives. Find examples of emails where you have received positive feedback, or a client or customer has provided positive feedback to you directly. Or where you've been shouted out by a colleague or team member. Share any relevant new qualifications or courses you've been on that support your positive performance.

3 Be clear about what top performance looks like

You may be seeking a promotion, a pay rise or to attain a company bonus or reward. Before the meeting review the intranet and speak to your manager to find out what the expectations are to attain being a top performer are.

Never make assumptions, because that can lead to disappointment and upset.

Always ask for specific and constructive feedback, so that you are able to see where there any gaps and what you can do demonstrate these capabilities in the future.

Hit reply and let me know what's 1 thing that you find challenging about preparing for your performance review?

I hope you have a great day ahead.

Warm Regards,

Ekua 💛
