Dear Wonderful Woman,

How are you doing?

I am well.

Saying Yes is powerful.

It gives you opportunities.

It allows you to get out of your comfort zone.

To grow in confidence.

To pursue new challenges.

To grow and improve your skill level.

To deepen your expertise.

And yet often we doubt ourselves and our abilities when receive opportunities to step up and to on take more responsibility, to lead, to work on more complex projects, we are invited to speak, to share our story and to pursue that incredible opportunity in your inbox.

Sometimes our first inclination is to say, "No", I'm not ready, I can't do this, what if I fail, this isn't a genuine opportunity, I'm not expert enough, I'm not good enough or insert whatever your go-to doubt or fear is.

Recently, I received a message from someone who claimed to work for LinkedIn asking me if I wanted to contribute to a LinkedIn article on top things to bear in mind for career development in 2024.

I was suspicious and initially thought, this is fake or some kind of scam! Rather than believe the stories of my inner critic and not respond, I did my due diligence checked his profile and did some basic research.

If I had listened to my first response, I would have ignored it and done myself out of an opportunity. I don't know if my quotes will be used, but that's not the point!

What I do know and here's what I want you to takeaway from the story is that -

Believe in your value, worth and your unique awesomeness. ❤️

You don't need external validation to know that you're imperfectly magnificent.

External validation is a bonus.

Remember it's an inside job!

So dial up your inner cheerleader, and say "Yes" to those opportunities that scare you, that stretch you, that take you outside of your comfort zone and let you become the greatest, highest and best version of YOU! 🙌🏾💃🏾🔥🤩🙌🏾💃🏾🔥
