Why is Self-Care NOT only for Christmas or January?

Dear Wonderful Woman,
I hope you're well.
How is your January going so far?
My January is going well. Though I need to be mindful of not trying to do it all at 100mph and then Burnout before the end the month! 🤦🏿♀️ It's only been a week and half and you're thinking what could she possibly be doing? The answer is thinking about all of the things I want to achieve this month and in this first quater. It's giving my brain a head ache at times because at times it's a bit too obsessive to be healthy.
So I wanted us all to be reminded, that we are the beginning of the year and we don't need to run before you can crawl. So it's a reminder for you and me to pace yourself as there is another 11 months of the year to go!
I am sure that you know that it's a good idea to have a self-care regime that you follow, and then at times we can let it fall by the way side, or feel that resting is reducing our productivity. Something which is actually false, because if don't take care of your body you get sick and you are not able to do the things that you want to do.
Here are 3 things I'd like you to think about for your career for the first month of this year:
1 How am I making time for the things outside of work that give me joy? Do I have scheduled time for breaks or doing the things I enjoy?
2 What am I doing to increase my knowledge this month? What I am reading, or how I am furthering my knowledge through practical experience?
3 What I am doing to make sure that I am getting enough good quality sleep? What is my bedtime routine? Are there any improvements that I can make?
Hit reply and tell me, which of these 3 questions are you going to focus on?
Finally, just to let you know I'm doing a final call for the Kick Start your Career e-coaching programme, which can help you get a pay rise this year. It'll be going away from 17th Jan at Midnight UK time.
To your Career Success!
Warm Regards,
Ekua 💛
