Are you ready for Career Growth?
Apr 06, 2023 11:00 am
Dear Wonderful Woman,
I hope you're well.
This time of year is an opportunity for us to take some time for rest, visit family and friends over the Easter Holidays if you're based in the UK.
It's also an opportunity to reflect, to assess how we're doing and to plan for our career growth.
Today I'm sharing 4 ways to take action to support your career growth.
4 ways you can support your Career Growth:
1 Bridge your knowing doing gap
We all have things that we have had on our to do list to support our career growth and advancement but yet they still remain on the list! This could be down to fear, to a lack of confidence or not yet being committed yet to doing what it takes. It's time for a fresh start, to back yourself and believe in your ability to do awesome things!
Choose 1 item on your career development plan that you've been avoiding doing and make a commitment to taking action this month. Start small. Get held accountable.
2 Take on a challenge beyond your comfort zone
To support your career growth, you've got to go beyond what's comfortable and to seek out challenges that are little bit scary or don't feel good thinking about them! To get the opportunities and the growth we are seeking we need to be courageous. Reflect and consider your WHY and your commitment to growing in your career.
Choose 1 thing that you know isn't comfortable for you right now and commit to taking action on doing it this month. Adopt the mindset that this is a test and you are doing this to get better at it. Get held accountable and go for it!
3 Spring Clean your Mind
Spring is here and it's time to take a moment to check in with yourself about some of those thoughts that aren't serving you. The ones that are stopping you from achieving your potential. Let's start by tackling 1 thought that you need to ditch. It's a process you'll need to keep doing on the regular!
Choose 1 thought that's not serving you and re-frame it into something that gives you the opportunity for growth, learning and change. Be kind to yourself when you catch yourself in this thought and seek out your new phrase to replace it. Make this thought easy to remember, make a phone reminder, journal it or write on a post it and stick it someone you can see it regularly.
4 Celebrate Your Wins!
You can often forget as you're working towards your career goals that you're truly awesome! That you've had career wins in the past and you'll have them again. Making it a habit to celebrate and acknowledge your wins supports your career growth and builds your confidence.
Choose to put in place a process to celebrate your wins every week or do it daily! The more you acknowledge your wins, the more you remember them and are inspired by them.
What practice will you put in place to celebrate your wins this month?
Feeling brave, share a post on social media about a recent career wins!
