3 Ways to avoid the Burnout Cave

Dear Wonderful Woman,

How are you doing?

I hope you're well.

I have been thinking about Burnout a lot! I've also recently heard my personal Burnout triggers calling. So rather than ignore them, I decided to do something different. I took my first ever Wellbeing day off last week on Monday. I feel so much better for it. Next up I'd like to share 3 tips on avoiding the Burnout Cave. Check them out below.

3 Ways to avoid the Burnout Cave:

1 Schedule your working time & create boundaries between working and non-working time!

It's so easy with working from home to have very loose boundaries about when you're working, which leads you to "always being on". One way to create boundaries is to wrangle those pesky email and social media notifications! Learn to use the well-being settings on your phone to take control of the notifications, set them to the right level, or turn them completely off! (Guilty of this one!)

2 Make time for Fun & Joy!

Sometimes, we're "so busy being busy!" that we forget to make time for fun and joy. Schedule time to do the activities that bring you fun and joy every week. This should not be an occasional thing! It's important to have fun and to feel joy for your mental and physical health.

3 Take Responsibility when you feel "The Signs of Burnout Coming!"

Sometimes we're our own worst enemy to borrow from Pink, "Don't let me get me!" So what I mean here is that usually you'll feel an indication that things are not right. And yes, sometimes it can be rather unexpected! Even in that case, don't ignore or repress how you feel. Take action and work through and take control of the downward Burnout spiral.

I'd like to share with you the "Burnout" Chapter from my Book, Be Your No.1 Cheerleader. You can check it out: HERE

Hit reply and tell me 1 thing that you're going to this month to prevent you going into the Burnout downward spiral?

To your career success!

Warm Regards,

Ekua 💛
