Three important steps to ensure your body is eliminating toxins

Happy Monday!

Have you ever wondered what "detoxes" are doing?

They're essentially trying to eliminate toxin build up in your body through a cleanse or supplement protocol.

The problem with these is that your body already knows how to detox! We have six major detox organs in our body working 24/7 to eliminate what we are exposed to daily.

The problem doesn't necessarily lie with needing a detox, but instead opening up any pathway in your body that normally eliminates toxins.

When we jump straight into a "detox", these toxins re circulate throughout our body and don't become eliminated because the root cause isn't being fixed. it can often times result in worse symptoms.

Symptoms such as migraines, headaches, resistant weight loss, insulin resistance, fatigue, brain fog, hormone issues, rashes, etc are all signs that our body is building these up and having a hard time eliminating them.

So what are some steps to take now to ensure your body's detox pathways are open?

Fiber

That's right. A plant based diet isn't just beneficial for its high antioxidant content. Fiber actually acts as a binder to toxins to help flush these toxins out.

Make sure you are having bowel movements daily. This ensures you're eliminating some toxins out of your body.

Focus on including a variety of starches, non starchy vegetables, and Omega 3 sources in your diet.

Hydrate

One of our detox pathways is through our kidneys. Our liver can turn fat soluble toxins into water soluble to allow them to be flushed through our kidneys.

Staying hydrated allows our body to continuously support the kidneys.

Sweating

This is important! Breaking a sweat 4-5x/week allows your body to mobilize toxins through our sweat.

If you don't like to do cardio:

  • Take a hot bath that allows you to sweat
  • Utilize a sauna

My Favorite Sauna:

I love the Sunlighten sauna because it is manufactured without toxic glues or materials. it is also low EMF which is very important to consider when looking into saunas!

Since I don't do a lot of cardio, I use my sauna about 4x/week.

Some of the benefits:

  • Lowers LDL and total cholesterol
  • Increases HDL
  • Healthy blood pressure
  • Immune support
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Improved blood flow
  • Lowers oxidative stress
  • Eliminates toxins

Consults

If you've been eating plant based, exercising, and doing everything you know to her right but still not seeing results, it could be a result of toxin overload.

My consults revolve around reducing environmental toxin exposure and allowing the body to function optimally.

My meal plans are probably my favorite part! You can book a free 15 minute consult to discuss your case further with me.
