It's been quite a while since the last time I reached you via email. I do hope you have been fine.

I have been thinking lately about why God wants us married and a few things came to mind that I would like to share with you.

1. To love and serve him together. If you believe in God, then you already believe that he created us to love and serve him. Marriage is not an end to that but a continuation. He wants us to encourage and support each other to love and serve him even more as married couples.
2. To extend his love to one another. Yes, God loves your partner. I know that this would be difficult to assimilate for people who have partners who are a handful to manage, but God does love your partner and you are an extension of him, through which he can reach your spouse with his love, kindness, patience, and forgiveness.
3. To model God's idea of family to a dying and confused world. God has put on on earth to show forth his glory and his idea of life and marriage. He wants the world to look at your marriage and see how marriage can be done his way.
4. To raise the next generation of God's people. Today's children are tomorrow's leaders and God has given us the awesome privilege of stewarding the development of these leaders of tomorrow. We must create an atmosphere that will foster their development into all that God has called them to be and do.

You see what enormous responsibility lies on our shoulders and God is trusting us to be at our best.
