Story mentoring opportunities

Greetings story lovers,

I write on a rain soaked Sunday on the bonnie Isle of Bute. Nestled in the mouth of the River Clyde, it's one of Scotland's less fashionable islands yet has its own charm.

I'm here, as usual, to tell stories, linking up with a purpose built 'story wagon' and story-maker Luke who, leaning over a type writer, creates stories with passing members of the public which they get to take home. It's been a good day!

We're deep into what seems like the wettest Spring I can remember here in Scotland, so my upcoming BC (Canada) tour is feeling all the more enticing!

Tickets are live for most of the shows now and we'll finish with a four day Scottish Mythopoetic retreat.

I'll write more about it in time, but you can find out more at:

However, the real reason I'm writing today is to mention something much more low key and bespoke.

Story Mentoring opportunities

With the tour taking up so much attention, I haven't set up the courses I'd planned at the start of the year. They will come, but more likely in the Autumn.

In the meantime, I have taken on a 'storytelling mentee' and I'm enjoying it so much, inspired to take on a couple more.

Working one to one with developing storytellers allows the tuition to be totally responsive to the student.

Rather than designing a formula that will work for a whole group with diverse interests and experience levels, one to one sessions give the freedom to follow specific interests and inspiration, hone distinct story interests and offer bespoke recommendations and guidance. In 6 personalised sessions, we can make some significant storytelling progress...and have a lot of fun!

I'll only take on a couple of students, so If you're interested to discuss and see if this is a good fit for you, send me a message. I'll announce it on social media later in the week, but wanted to give my mailing list first shout on the places.

That's it for now.

There are a few more developments that I'll announce soon, but for now, I hope you're avoiding the seasonal deluge in your part of the world.

Wishing you a splash of sun in your mid-Spring.

All Best

Dougie
