A Wolf Shall Devour the Sun

Dear Fringe folk and wildlings,

As the dust settles on Edinburgh Fringe Festival 25, we're delighted with the warm response 'A Wolf Shall Devour the Sun" received from audiences and reviewers alike. It's very encouraging, and we're excited to see where this show goes from here.

As mentioned at the SSC, this email has some updates and ways to stay involved through the coming season, starting with an opportunity to come and track wolves with us in Brandenburg, Germany.

Wolf tracking and storytelling (9-12 October)

When researching the show, I realised I would have to get close to wolves to do the subject justice. The most formative wolf tracking experience came in Brandenburg, Germany, with a skilled and knowledgable team of trackers who have been observing a local pack of wolves for the last 13 years. They work from a gorgeous setting, at dedicated wilderness school.

We are delivering weekend of wolf tracking and wolf related storytelling at the wilderness centre, exploring some of the themes arising in the show, whilst out on the land, getting close to wolves in the wild, and with some ecological experts.

As far as I know, this is the first event of its kind and I expect it to be special.

Edfringe Audience reviews

We had some very encouraging reviews (from Core Blimey, the List, Snack Magazine, Edinburgh, plus won the Derek Award for storytelling!). We also really value the audience reviews and feedback, which can also be helpful for further touring and show development.

A Wolf Shall Devour the Sun on Tour

Over the next months we'll be setting up a tour for the show in 2026. If you know of a venue, programmer or festival that you think would be a great fit for the show please let us know and we'll follow up decent leads.

....

Regardless, thanks for coming along and supporting the show at the Scottish Storytelling Centre.

Hoping to cross paths again further down the trail.

Stay wild!

Dougie & Jemima
