Join us at the Story Cafe (Sun 15)

Jun 15, 2025 11:21 am

Greetings fine folk,

Happy (UK) father's day to whom such a day applies...may your day be blessed with burnt breakfasts, bad jokes and a whole lot of love!

After picking up my daughter from running club, we'll be making pear and chocolate cake, before an evening at the (totally unrelated) online Story Cafe where I'll be testing out an old traveller tale about a blacksmith.

Story Cafe

If you're not already familiar with this Story Cafe idea, it's simply an informal space to work on stories for telling, suitable for beginners and also more experienced storytellers.

It arises from my own need for a space to test new tales, and a desire to share that with others, whilst having a bit of craic along the way.

The first session is today (Sunday 15th) at 7-8.15pm BST. It's by donation so feel free to drop in and see if it's a good fit.

The meeting link is below, as is a link to my Substack article where I discuss it more thoroughly.

If you're interested, bring a story (preferably a folk tale or myth) that you'd like to develop for telling, and an open heart. That's it.

Hope to see you this evening

Dougie
