Week 4 Video and Activities
Apr 03, 2023 7:56 pm
Hi Everyone,
Thanks again for a rich Wednesday night encounter. I hope you've each had the opportunity for a little Thursday lope with your inner teen wolf today :)
The video of last nights gathering is available via this link:

And the weekly invitations are as follows:
Shapeshifting:
-Consider which animal reflects an essential part of your nature? (Allow that animal some space in your week. Tune in to that animal a bit, learn about it, listen to recordings of its sounds online, move like it)
-Go on a walk (101 steps from the village) and practice 'animal forms'. Walk on your tip toes, light footed and silent as a fox. Cup your hands beside your ears and see how your hearing focuses when you direct your cupped hands. Hold a wide soft gaze like an owl and see what you notice in your expanded vision.
Feel free to get creative with other animal actions too....maybe scratch your back on a tree like a bear. Have a bit of a howl to yourself. You're 101 steps away from the village, go a little bit wild!
-Find another shapeshifting tale. These tales are common around the world. If you've got capacity for another story, seek one out and see how it is similar or different to our wolf tale this week.
On the Run
Husband- Who offers ‘non heroic’ support in our lives? Show gratitude to that person somehow.
Who is running like Relinivet? Is there someone in our lives who needs calling back, can we remind them of their true name? Is there part of us that needs called back to the village?
Do we need a bit more wolf running in our lives? How can we make that happen?
Investigate wolves
Fair Folk podcast did an interesting episode on wolf lore:

'Of Men and Wolves' by Barry Lopez is an excellent comprehensive book on wolf biology, lore and human interaction in Europe and North America, also on audiobook.

Investigate Chukchi tales
Other tales and cultural aspects of the Chukchi people may help deepen our understanding of this weeks story.
Geography:

I found some interesting story links too:

......
Ok, that's enough for now.
Wishing you many delightful howls over the coming week.
See you next Wednesday as we cross the Bering Straits and enter the forests of the Tlingit nation. We'll meet some more large mammals.
All best
Dougie
