My two kids are at an age where they are obsessed with getting new plushies, so post-Christmas we have a lot of new squishy faces around the house. I'm constantly being asked to remember their names, but like the billion new Pokemon that crop up every year, my poor battered brain has no capacity to store this information. I'm sorry, kid, but "Lucario" sounds more like the name of the male lead in a soap opera than some ultimate fighting critter.
But I tell you, I will never forget the name of my eldest's new plush seal. Say "hello" to Tofu.
If Tofu's not the best name ever for a chonky seal, I don’t know what is.
I'm kicking off my author year with a pretty nice promotion. Kim McDougall, author of Dragons Don't Eat Meat, has organized a free book fair made up entirely of fantasy authors. Check out Discover the Wonder free fantasy book fair!
Amazon gives authors like me a chance to offer our books for free worldwide for a very limited time, and I've been waiting for a good opportunity to do so. Not only can you get my nature wizard novel Chasing Lightning for free with no strings attached for the first time worldwide, you can also download these other great reads:
- Three Half Goats Gruff: Kyra Greene, pest controller of fantastic beasts, takes on a rock troll and meets the man who will haunt her dreams for the next 321 nights. (Avg. 4.5 stars with 90 reviews)
- A Prescription for Possession: Ninety years ago, Gabriella di Luca failed to protect the family of her dead lover. Now the devil that murdered the eldest Van Helsing son has resurfaced, and she’s determined to stop him before he can lay a bloody hand on the remaining three brothers. (Avg. 4.5 stars with 91 reviews)
- The Witching Vault: After her release from magical prison, Jessica Northwood can’t hold a job to save her life. So when an apprenticeship opens up at a spellbound bank, no questions asked, she can’t exactly say no… but she definitely should have. (Avg. 4.4 stars with 53 reviews)
