I published my first book in May 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic. I didn't plan it that way. I'd been writing a few novels on and off for years, and I finally dusted one series off and published it. Since then, I've kept up a steady writing schedule.
My books are like me: a little quirky and weird. They don't always completely fit into any genre mold. (I'm looking at you, Magic of Nasci, marketed as an urban fantasy series despite taking place in remote forests.) I'm always thrilled when I get any stranger to read my stories, and I'm totally over the moon when they like what I write. Having people devour my books and ask for more is more magical than any fantasy scenario I could dream up.
That's why I'm floored looking at the stats of my latest series. Today is the 1-year anniversary when I hit "publish" on Mom of the Chosen's One. Over 300 people have reviewed the book since then, with a 4.5 average star rating! Given that my best Nasci book hasn't yet broken 150 reviews in 3 years, it's easily my best record. I am so happy that you love single mom Melissa and her struggle to protect her teenage daughter Regan.
I clearly have a lot to be thankful for this season!
Thank you to anyone who's read any of my books and stories, even the free short story ones. You're the reason I'm still typing away at the keyboard every day. And triple thanks to those who write reviews. You guys make all this daily writing worth doing.
And keeping with that grateful spirit, I've also written a new free short story on my blog that centers on gratitude and growth. Check out Giving Thanks, A Magical Midlife Mom Short Story:
“Are you sure selkies even celebrate Thanksgiving?” Regan asked.
Have you read any of books? Please tell me what you think. I love emailing with readers: [email protected].
