As promised, I'm publishing 5 books in the Magic of Nasci series before the end of the year. Since we're already halfway through (the chaos that is) 2020, I'm gearing up to release Book 2: Breathing Water.
Writing the second book lets me play around more in this sandbox (sand dunes?) I've created. Although I loved writing about the "chicken lizard" of Book 1, the beast in Book 2 is much more sinister. I explore deeper into how the goddess Nasci fuels the shepherds' world. Ina meets new shepherds in some unique environments. Old friends and enemies might surprise you in how they deal with the conflict. And, of course, Ina's going to find a way to get into trouble (as well as hopefully get out of it unscathed).
Here's the official cover and blurb:
Mythical beasts lurk everywhere, even underwater.
Ina’s still got a lot to learn before becoming a seasoned nature wizard. Her mentor Guntram wants her to master water magic, but no matter how hard she tries, she just can’t seem to get the hang of it.
But she’ll need to figure it out soon. Something from Letum is hunting the animal spirits that protect the Pacific Northwest’s waterways. Can she trust game warden Vincent Garcia to locate this new threat? And if she does find it, can she stop it with her unstable elemental magic?
Breathing Water is the second in the action-packed Magic of Nasci urban fantasy series that chronicles Ina’s journey to becoming a full-blown shepherd. If you like sarcastic protagonists, colorful side characters with secrets, and the allure of forest magic, this series is for you.
Available July 28, 2020 as an Amazon eBook, paperback, and in Kindle Unlimited.
