After graduating college, I spent two years teaching English in Japan at four public schools. I clearly remember the first time I stood in front of 40 Japanese high school students, lesson plan in hand and sweat forming under my beige suit in the sweltering, non-air-conditioned summer heat. My body could have lifted off the ground with the sheer amount of butterflies in my stomach, but excitement mingled with that fear. I was living abroad my great grandparents' homeland, and I was about to teach a subject near and dear to my heart. No amount of nerves would stop me from moving forward.
I feel that same contradictory mix of emotions as my debut fantasy novel, Chasing Lightning, has one week left on preorder. I want to simultaneously hide and shout it out from the rooftops. Next week, people will be reading about Ina's adventures as a nature wizard in my 5-book fantasy series. There's no turning back now.
Chasing Lightning will be available on Kindle Unlimited, as an Amazon digital book, and in paperback on May 27th. Below is a sneak preview that includes the book's first chapter:
I hope you're as excited about the shepherds of Nasci as I am. Please let me know your thoughts about the sample chapter at [email protected].
