I made it to July, not as easy feat given the past couple of months.

But now is the time to turn the heat up.

July is one of the slower months for most of us Tucsonans. And that got me thinking. I should turn this Dead time into Alive time

A few years ago, I read a book that mentioned the concept of Alive time or Dead time.

The concept being based on how we use our time.

The best example I use, is when I'm driving home from the shop. I've got a bit of a commute, so how I use that can be Alive or Dead. Should I listen to music, or another podcast.... or can I make a call to my mom, or my best friend.

I try to use that dead time to do something I would normally be too busy to do.

Running a couple of businesses, being a dad, and a husband doesn't leave me tons of time to call my mom. So I make that my Alive time.

Its now one of the ways I can check in regularly with my people... the key being regularly.

Now what the heck does that have to do with July. Well, being slow, this is like being in traffic on a drive home.

I can't be productive like I'm used to but maybe I can spend time planning out the rest of 2024. What trips, or business plans or whatever, need some brain power that I might normally be using for other important things that I dont have right now.

So, I'm working on that this month. Maybe you don't need the concept like I do, but if you try it out, theres some really great benefits. Just ask my mom lol.

Also, voting for best of Tucson is starting next week. Im excited to put our hat in the ring yet again but will need your help with nominations. But we can talk about that later.
