This year has been crazy...
So, today is election day for those of us in the US and if you are like me, I know you are sick and tired of being bombarded by "remember to vote" messages and election talk everywhere you look.
I figured Id take this time to give you 3 things you can do to clear your mind from all this talk, save some of your sanity.
Before I get to that, I just want to mention something. I don't have any actual news on this yet but I have been spending the last couple weeks working on something I said I was going to do a long time ago... and I'm very excited. I hate to do this to you, as I'm not ready to tell you about it yet but make sure to check the next newsletter in 2 weeks because I will give you the full details then.
Now, on to those things
1 - Watch some pet videos on Youtube
Specifically The Dawghouse Youtube channel. Everyone love pets and I got started watching that channel on Youtube about a week or so ago when I was looking up Boston Terriers and Ive gotten quite hooked. There are tons of videos. You can start with Lila, a new 8 week old Boston Terrier meeting the other dogs in the Dawghouse the first time, to a doggie pool party. It is very relaxing and entertaining. the type of thing that would for sure allow you to forget about the world for a few hours... and make you contemplate getting a dog yourself (if you don't already have one)
2 - Listen to an Audiobook
Ive talked about audiobooks before so you know that I kindof favor them to reading the book...if the audiobook is well produced. I have 2 that I want to recommend today. Since I write in 2 types of genre's (Thriller/horror/suspense and Fantasy/Scifi) I'm going to suggest 2 that Ive listened too not to long ago that I really liked.
The Outsider by Stephen King, Yea I know there was a TV show based on that book and you may have already seen the show, but I really liked the book. I'll be honest, I didn't really get hooked until about half way through
and for you scifi fans...
Artemis by Andy Weir. Andy Weir wrote The Martian, which I really liked so when the sequel to that book came out, I had to listen. Its narrated by Rosario Dawson and to me, was every bit of enjoyable as the martian. Plus, this one had the thing that I like in my books...a host of different characters with lots of dialogue and character interactions.
Both of those books can be found on Audible, but if you don't have Audible, here's a nifty affiliate link for you (you get 2 free books).
3 - Last but not least. Read The Injection.
Of course I cant end this list without suggesting my new book, but there is a review that I received that made me think it would be the perfect book to read to get your mind away from the election news. the review said
I finished it in an evening. Partly because I didn't want to put it down until I knew the ending.
That was a 4 star review but that alone would make me think "Hmm... I need to read something that I can read in a day while all this is going on that I cant put down"
Pick that up here. I will be 99cents for a few more days.
