The DET in 2026: New Questions? + Big January Sale!

Jan 01, 2026 12:35 pm

Hi, Teacher Luke here πŸ‘‹

Happy New Year β€” wishing you an amazing 2026 πŸŽ‡

Recently, a lot of my students are asking me the same question:

"What does the Duolingo English Test look like in 2026? Are there any changes?"

Right now, the test is exactly the same as in 2025 (you can see all question types below).

However, based on previous years, I expect changes to the test around April or May, which is when the DET usually adds new questions to the test.

Before we get into that, I want to quickly tell you about something important.
