Hi 👋 Teacher Luke here,

The Duolingo English Test continues to evolve, and 2023 has said hello to new question types and goodbye to others.

For those who are going to take the test in 2023, knowing what question types are currently on the test is crucial!

👇 Here's what the DET in 2023 looks like:

  1. Read and Complete - 4-6 times on the test
  2. Read and Select - 4-6 times
  3. Listen and Type - 4-6 times
  4. Read Aloud - 4-6 times
  5. Interactive Listening / Summary - 2 times
  6. Interactive Reading - 2 times
  7. Write About the Photo - 3 times
  8. Speak About the Photo - 1 time
  9. Read, Then Write - 1 time
  10. Read, Then Speak - 1 time
  11. Listen, Then Speak - 2 times
  12. Speaking Sample - 1 time
  13. Writing Sample - 1 time
