It’s called a contrast clause, and it’s one of the easiest ways to use complex grammar.
Here are three examples of contrast clauses:

Although roads are important for economic development, investing in public transport offers more long-term benefits.
👉 Even though...
Even though people enjoy the freedom of driving, public transport reduces traffic and pollution.
👉 Despite...
Despite the higher upfront cost, train systems are more sustainable than expanding roads.
