First, let's understand this question's structure and scoring.

• You'll join an academic conversation as a student, talking to another student or a professor.
• You listen and choose correct answers for 5 multiple-choice questions in 4 minutes. ⏳
• You can only listen to the audio once, so be ready!
• After the conversation, you write a short summary (more on this in my next email).
• This question contributes to your Comprehension and Conversation Subscores.

Use these strategies in your practice to improve your listening and do better on the test.

1. Read the situation carefully: Understand the conversation's context to eliminate unrelated answers.
2. Notice speaker relationships: Conversations with students are casual, while talks with professors are more formal. Use this to guide you.
3. Find synonyms: The correct answers often use synonyms instead of the exact words from the conversation. For example, if the conversation is about "job satisfaction," the correct answer might use the phrase "contentment in my profession" instead.
4. Check previous answers: If you're unsure, previous answers may have clues.
