As you probably already know, there are four different independent speaking question types on the Duolingo English Test:

• Speak About the Photo
• Read, Then Speak
• Listen, Then Speak
• Speaking Sample (interview)

👇 Here are some tips to help you do well on these speaking questions:

Tip 1: Don't memorize answers

Tip 2: Don't use unfamiliar words

Tip 3: Use a range of grammatical structures

Tip 4: Don't worry about your accent

Tip 5: Speak for as long as you can

Tip 6: Avoid using too many fillers

Tip 7: Extend your answers as much as you can

Tip 8: Speaking loudly helps pronunciation

Tip 9: Understand the question before you speak

Tip 10: Practice common DET topics (education, environment, society, etc.)
