1️⃣ Focus on Speaking and Writing

A lot of students find these sections the hardest — and they're also the most important for your score and university requirements.

These 8 question types really matter:

• Summarize the Conversation
• Write About the Photo
• Interactive Writing
• Speak About the Photo
• Read Then Speak
• Interactive Speaking
• Writing Sample
• Speaking Sample

Each one is very learnable — and I walk you through all of them step by step inside my VIP program and on YouTube.

2️⃣ Know all 13 question types

The DET includes 13 different question types that assess your:

• listening
• reading
• writing
• speaking

The 8 types above cover Speaking and Writing. The remaining 5 cover Reading and Listening — and knowing all of them inside and out is your first step toward success.

3️⃣ Understand how scoring works

Your grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and content all play a role in how your speaking and writing tasks are scored.

Learning how to produce effective answers that hit all these points is essential.

4️⃣ Timed practice is non-negotiable

The DET is a fast test! So, regular, timed practice is key to managing the pace of the DET.

5️⃣ Know the rules

Avoid simple mistakes that can cost you points:

• Don't use memorized answers
• Keep your eyes on the screen
• Don't use tools like Grammarly
• Don't take notes
• Make sure you're alone in a quiet room
• Don't wear earphones or earbuds

Master these tips, and you'll be well on your way to acing the DET.
