You might have noticed something new pop up on the DET practice test recently... A brand new speaking question 👀

Here’s a quick heads-up: This question isn’t part of the official test just yet—but it’s likely coming soon.

From what I can tell, it will probably be called “Interactive Speaking.”

Here’s what I know so far:

• You’ll take part in a conversation with a Duolingo character
• You’ll be asked 8 questions on 1–2 topics (like communities, stress management, etc.)
• You’ll have 35 seconds to answer each question
• You’ll need to elaborate on your answers—not just give short replies
• You’ll be assessed on: grammar, vocabulary, coherence, fluency & pronunciation

This one’s all about showing your speaking and conversation skills—so don’t hold back.
