Hiya!
Thank you for the sweet passage into your inbox. It means a lot to me that we share this frequency. Cheers!
You may have noticed I changed the title of this newsletter from "Vibrations" to "D' Notes." You know me, so you know I love punny things. I find them hilarious fun. The puns are pretty obvious. My name Delaina, I write, and I play instruments; one instrument in particular, is in the note of D.
There is also another reason for the change. For a while now, I have been leaning into the Sound Therapist side of me. But this amazing thing has happened. My desire to poet and write has be revitalized. The new title denotes (see what I did there), that I will share more of those notes and writings as well.
Hence why the word REvitalization is in the subject line. Plus, this is also the REvitalization of our RElationship. Okay, I'll stop. LOL
Poetry
This April I followed the energetic nudge into the rabbit hole of writing a poem a day. The PAD Challenge is not easy. It is also not something I have felt the desire to do in years. Ten years to be exact. Can you believe it's been ten years this June; when Rosemary, Helen, Leigh, and I put our April Challenge poems together to create She Too: Four Voices in (Almost) Harmony.
At the beginning of the challenge I thought I would turn the poems into a chapbook. But then I discovered that Rosemary, Helen, and Leigh were also breaking lines in meter and rhyme. This is the perfect opportunity to put together another anthology. YipppEEE.
It gets even better. Helen, helped me find an editor and writing coach extraordinaire! Her name is Carina Bissett. Carina is a fantastic writer that has won awards and has been nominated for many more. If you are in the market to up your writing game, I highly recommend Carina.
Also if you like to read, which I know you do, check out her publications and her book Dead Girl, Driving and other Devastations. I've just started reading the book, even though I'm a sappy romance fan she has put a lot of heart in her "dark" stories. As a result, I enjoy the journey she takes her readers on.
Soundology
I've been performing sound treatments in senior living centers. These events are amazing experiences. The residences seem to enjoy the zen of the handpans as well as, the wooden rhythm of the Hamgam. It is incredible to witness the music calm and enliven their spirits all at the same time.
I have new Soundologies and Meditations available to you on Insight Timer and Insight Timer Plus. You can check them out here and on Insight Timer Plus:
You
Please let me know how are you doing? How is your summer going? If you traveled, where did your toes touch ground? What books did you read that lifted your soul? What music did you listen that gave your spirit wings?
In love, light, and sound,
Delaina
