How have you been?

Last month, I left you with photos of our disaster of a ceiling. After a tumultuous and very messy three weeks of not-so-professional tradesmen followed by tradies (Aussie slang) who actually took pride in their work, our ceiling has been restored to its former glory! Woo hoo!

I'm grateful we have a roof over our heads and we don't live in a place full of turmoil, so the drama with the ceiling repairs is definitely a first-world problem, but I'm so glad it's over and I hope we never have to deal with another ceiling collapse.

I thought you might also like to know that I had my procedure to remove a basal cell carcinoma from my scalp and it went really well. The specialist successfully removed the entire carcinoma with clear margins, so it's all about healing now and waiting for my hair to grow back.

I've been wearing headbands like a boss to cover the area. 🤣

How has your reading month been?

I don't have many books on my 'Read' list, but they've each been quality, engaging stories that have kept me glued to my Kindle app.

I continued with my Mackenzy Fox motorcycle club men, reading book 4 of her Bracken Ridge series. He was an absolute sweetheart wrapped up in muscles! I just wanted to squish him.

I was also fortunate to receive an Advance Reader Copy of Alexis Maree's latest offering, Wayward. This book is a series of short stories that tie in with her Nephilim series and Kings of Hell series. As you already know, I love everything Ms Maree writes, and I thoroughly enjoyed these stories that gave us a little background information and tease into the future.

Finally, this month, I've been reading Kennedy Ryan's Skyland Series. This series focuses on three best friends: Yasmin, Soldad, and Hendrix. Strong, intelligent, successful Black women facing challenges that are all too familiar. I am in awe of this author's capability to weave a story that's deep, engaging, and soulful. I highly recommend giving this series a chance when you have the time.
