National Cinnamon Roll Day means free books

Welp, Nix and Abbi have been out in the world for more than two weeks and the few people who have left reviews seem to have enjoyed it. Phew! It's always a nerve-racking experience to release a book out into the world.

I've had a disappointing reading month. I finished Brynne Weaver's Ruinous Love series. This series was pretty great overall. The first and third books were my favourite of the three. I think I liked them because they are so different to anything else out there at the moment. The women were strong in their own right and I loved that so much.

Then I've DNFd at least four books this month. I hate to do it, but I can't bring myself to keep reading a book when it's full of inconsistencies, flat characters, or a non-existent relationship but they can't keep their hands off each other.

So, I've gone back to one of my comfort authors, Claire Kingsley. She's moved from contemporary romance into romantic suspense and she's toned down the spice level, but I still enjoy her books immensely. I've been patiently waiting for her to finish this series, so I could get started and once the final book came out, I was there and I haven't been disappointed. Book one of the series was fantastic.
