How are things where you are?

I don't know about you, but I feel like every time I look around, another week has gone by and already we're over halfway through the fourth month of the year. I don't know if it's because I'm getting older, but time seems to vanish into thin air and I have no idea how to slow things down a little.

I had the most beautiful surprise last week and it made me cry!

I opened a book from one of my author friends because I had fallen behind with her releases and wanted to catch up. I love her work.

Absolutely adore it!

She has a way of writing sassy women and alpha (but not too alpha) men that I love to read. She had reached out to me when she was writing the story because she wanted to incorporate a couple of my characters.

Can you imagine how honoured I was when I admire her work so much?

So to celebrate, I thought I'd share the prologue with you. This is going to be an emotional read, so you may want to start stocking up on tissues now.

Prologue—Hope

Grief.

The dictionary says it’s a noun, but I beg to differ.

How can something that takes over your entire existence be a noun, not a verb?

It grows from nothing at an exponential rate in mere seconds. It’s a living entity that molds and changes who you are at your very core as it affects you physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.

The very definition says it’s deep and poignant distress caused by or as if by bereavement. But it’s more like an insidious disease that seeps through your mind and body, stealing your hopes and your dreams. Your future.

It steals the very essence of who you are.

It steals your life.

It steals your soul.

It irrevocably changes the very fabric of your being.
