G'day, ,
'Tis the season to be jolly and all other kinds of celebrations.
Hubby and I celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary tomorrow. We have certainly had our ups and downs, our wins and failures, and times where we haven't liked each other very much, but we both believe that marriage is all about choosing to work through those times and realising neither of us is perfect. I remember reading somewhere that marriages fall apart when both parties no longer love the other person, that a marriage can survive so long as at least one person still wants to be there. I'm not sure how true that is, but it sort of makes sense to me.
We celebrated by eating at crayfish—something we've always wanted to do—at a seafood restaurant on the weekend. We had to enjoy our celebratory dinner early because hubby had surgery booked for the beginning of this week and we knew he wouldn't be up to eating out. Of course, I ordered The Four Cheese Mornay Crayfish because ... well, cheese! And I can't believe I uttered these words, but there was almost too much cheese.
How was your reading month in November?
Mine was sensational. I'm still working my way through Samantha Christy's catalogue and I'm thoroughly enjoying myself.
There have definitely been some standout favourites, but I haven't read a book of hers that I haven't enjoyed.
Some of my favourites were:
Benching Brady from the Perfect Game series.
Sparking Sara from the Men on Fire series.
Unlikely Date from the Calloway Brothers series.
Funny story ...
I was reading Unlikely Bet and the story was so familiar, but I hadn't remembered reading any of Samantha's books previously. I was talking with my husband and telling him the similarities between this story and one I had read before. I was concerned that someone had plagerised the story. So I went back through my reading log only to discover that I had read the book before. *face palm* lol
And here is your reading log for December. I hope you fill it with amazing books!
This week, I'll be working through the suggestions from my amazing Beta readers for Everlasting Promises, then I'll send it to my editor!
I've been so excited to read their feedback for Hope, Evan, and Ben's story. It's been amazing, so I thought I'd share it here for you to see for yourself.

Out of the depths of emotion
I think this is Ms.St.James best book yet. I wish I could give it more than just five stars. She plunged me directly into Hope's despair and depression in just a few paragraphs and never let go of my emotions until the story was done. Ben brought direction and positivity to Hope and her son Evan when they had none. In turn, Hope and Evan grounded Ben and gave him purpose, happiness and contentment. I loved how Evan came alive as only a young boy can with the tail-wagging attention and puppy kisses from Ben's K-9 partner Rex. I thought the four of them bonded as a family almost from their second or third interaction.
As always, Ms.St.James delivers an emotionally powerful story with characters that are so real you wish they lived in your neighborhood to be your friends for real. In this book she drags the reader from the depths of grief, the exhaustion and stress of single parenthood, confusion, uncertainty, guilt, fleeting glimmers of light, to determination, resolve, friendship, letting go of the past, and moving on to love. Readers will cry, sigh, smile, worry, laugh, and fall in love with Hope, Evan, Ben and Rex as they create a new family of their own.

This story blew me away. First I’m all sorts of depressed and kind of glad my computer hit a glitch. Then you slowly and lovingly put me back together again. You write with such passion and light that it had me swooning and a wreck at every turn! The tension, the discussion of the door jamb 😭the beers at the cemetery, the 💫 on the back deck, the birthday surprise. Ughhhh I cried ugly tears throughout!

You have done it again. Beautifully written, emotional and heartwarming. You have a way with words that pulls in your readers, keeps them engaged, and has them feeling like they are a part fo the story. Your stories always have me crying but this one really hit me hard. I laughed, smiled from ear to ear and cried but most of all I loved every single bit of this story. Congratulations on another amazing, enthralling and engaging love story.
Ben is swoon-worthy. I don't think I have ever been that emotional throughout the whole book. Congratulations.
As an early Christmas gift, I'll share the cover and blurb for Everlasting Promises in my next newsletter!
Each of my books is written as a stand alone, but you always get the best experience if you read my other books. Hope and Evan were first introduced in Everlasting Love, so if you'd like to get to know them a little, I'd suggest you check it out before Everlasting Promises releases early next year. You'll also see glimpses of Sophie, who you met in Wicked Kisses. Just to save some confusion, Everlasting Promises falls before Wicked Kisses in the timeline.
