How are things with you?

It was Father's Day last weekend for us, so we spent the day fussing over my hubby. We took him out for breakfast, then visited his dad at the cemetery. Everyone was too full for lunch, so I made scones with jam and cream for afternoon tea and a traditional Burmese meal for dinner. He felt thoroughly spoiled and enjoyed his day immensely.

On a completely different note, our family received some shocking news since I was last in touch. My eldest sister has been diagnosed with stage IV melanoma. As you can imagine, it's sent me into a bit of a spin and I'm spending a lot of time taking her to appointments and supporting her. Sadly, her husband had a stroke earlier in the year and can't offer her the support she needs so I've stepped in where I can. It's a juggling act but I can't not help her. Thankfully, she's getting the latest treatments available to her and we're keeping a positive attitude toward the process and hoping for the best possible outcome.

Sorry to be the bearer of not-so-happy news, but I felt it was important to share because I may fall behind with things while I'm helping her.

Now, let's move onto a topic that makes us all happy ... books!

How was August in terms of books for you?

I managed to read two books, both of which were highly enjoyable and while they dealt with some important issues, they also gave me some laughs along the way. In case you're interested, they were Untying the Knot by Meghan Quinn and Lukas by Carian Cole. It's the first time I've read books by these ladies and I'll be heading back for more from them at some point.

In between everything else, I'm still working on Shane and Violet's story! I hit a bit of a hiccup last week when I returned to the bonus epilogue for The Summer Twins to fact-check something and realised I'd made an error with an event in my WIP.

Cue the facepalm and a litany of cursing! It meant deleting 5K worth of words and having to rewrite several scenes to bring them into line but it needed to be done.

There was a moment when I considered taking the easy way out and changing the bonus epilogue, but then it wouldn't have made any sense and I'm not about taking shortcuts.

I'm just glad I caught it BEFORE I published the story!

I'm finally ready to share the title for Shane and Violet's story with you.

Eeek!

This series will be called Everlasting and Shane and Violet's book will be the first installment. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Aaaaand ... I've just realised the title graphic looks a little Christmas-y. 😆

I promise the cover definitely doesn't.

The next two books in the series will feature a character you'll meet in Everlasting Love and a character you've already met in Enemy Kisses who makes another appearance in this story.

You have to know by now that I love for my people to pop up in each other's books!
