Terrific Summer Reads for Mystery and Thriller Fans

Jun 03, 2022 3:55 pm

With summer almost here, this is the perfect time to download crime fiction ebooks. Bookfunnel’s Women Solve Crime Mystery Giveaway offers full-length mysteries, thrillers, police procedurals, and amateur sleuths from over 30 authors until June 30. Please check out the link HERE.

I have only one mystery currently available in my backlist. Fatal Encryption was originally published in 2008 and features young, hapless accountant, Alex Bellamy. The book is dear to my heart as it has plenty of lighter moments and scenes set in Port Moody, which is where I live. Port Moody has a population of about 35,000 people and it’s changed a great deal since I wrote the book. I’m glad to have captured a small part of it before development took hold.

Here’s the back cover blurb:

Dressed as Kermit the Frog on Halloween, unemployed Alex Bellamy wonders where his life went wrong. It could be worse. A few miles away, Zachary Ternoway is stabbed to death at his front door. In need of cash, Alex agrees to help catch a computer hacker at McKinleys’ Department Store. But things turn serious when the hacker threatens to permanently encrypt the store’s data and torch the building unless ten million dollars is handed over fast. Alex knows there’s a connection between the murder and the extortionist, yet time’s running out. People are questioning his competency, and a killer’s threatening his life.

The man who created the cover for Fatal Encryption also designed the cover for my upcoming 7th Casey Holland mystery, A Gold Satin Murder. I’ll have a cover reveal next month and offer other sneak previews over the summer months. Meanwhile, if you wish to order a copy of Fatal Encryption, it’s on sale for $.99 until June 20th. Here are the ordering links (note that they’re not through BookFunnel.)
