November 1, 2021
Welcome to the McNicol Mysteries newsletter for November. I don't know about you, but here in middle Tennessee it is beginning to feel like winter. In fact, our local meteorologist said October felt more like November. Guess that means November will feel like December? Eeek!
October was an exceptionally busy month - travel, weddings, household repairs, surgery (hubby, not me, and he's doing fine), declining health of a relative, but the best part was finding out we will be grandparents again in April. For anyone interested in more details about my October doings (along with photos), you can read it all here on my personal blog.
If you follow many writers, you may have heard about NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month where you are challenged to write 50k words in thirty days. My first time joining in was back in 2012 and between Camp NaNoWriMo in August and NaNoWrMo in November, I wrote my first two books, Home Again (sweet romance) and Not a Whisper: Klondike Mystery Book 1 (Mystery/Police Procedural). In 2013, I applied the principles of NaNo writing and managed to produce my third novel, Barely a Spark: Klondike Mystery Book 2.
In 2014, we moved to Ecuador for two years and my writing stalled. After moving back to the states, I joined in NaNoWriMo again and wrote Almost a Touch: Klondike Mystery Book 3.
Most of you already know I've been fighting writer's block for a while now. Due to hubby's surgery, we cancelled our Nov/Dec cruises and I decided to tackle NaNoWriMo again. This time around, I have two projects I want to finish. One is the short story prequel to a future series and the other is book one of a new series. Wish me luck!
That's about it, so dive on in! There are some great books and promotions listed below. Now it's time for me to get back to writing!
