December 1, 2021

Welcome to the McNicol Mysteries newsletter for December. We made it to the last month of the year! I don't know about anyone else, but it's been a long year - especially since 2020 kind of just blended in with 2021. LOL!

November brought a variety of health news for our family: some good, some okay, some terrible. Hubby and I are doing all we can to keep our health on the good side. Soon, a treadmill will be installed in our office (yes, we share an office). We sold our elliptical because we never used it anymore. For both of us, a treadmill makes more sense. He's been walking with the dogs 30-40 minutes almost every day and I've been aiming for going with him 3-4 times a week. With winter moving in, the treadmill will see a lot of use.

I've been running my wax warmer again. Over the summer I kind of forgot about it. I have a couple of favorite scents but need to find more. Do you use one? What scents do you like?

How did NaNoWriMo go? Um, terrible if you look at my word count (way below the targeted 50k) BUT I still feel good. I finished my short story prequel, well, the first draft at least, for a future series. I won't publish it until I'm ready to write the series, but the prequel will be done.

Hubby has been busy working on the wiring in his hobby barn...he's still limited from lifting anything over 15 pounds but that restriction will be gone soon. I expect he will spend most days, unless it's too cold, working in the pole barn, finishing up as much as he can in preparation for getting the concrete floor in next spring. Yes, it's being done AFTER everything else. If anyone is interested, here is the link to his blog. He is so proud of all he's done (with help) to fulfill his lifelong dream of having a place to work on restoring old vehicles.

That's about it, so dive on in! There are some great books and promotions listed below. Now it's time for me to get back to writing!

P.S. A fun photo of our two silly Goldendoodles, Cooper and Murphy. Hubby was working in the utility room and had shut them out.

Well, that about wraps it up for this issue. I hope you have enjoyed it and maybe even found a new author or two and a few fun books to read.

Feel free to forward this to your mystery loving friends and we look forward to seeing you next time with more to share!
