Welcome to the the McNicol Mysteries newsletter. How are you doing weather-wise? It seems like we had two weeks of fall, then right into winter temps here in middle Tennessee. I'm okay with that but hubby hates the cold. He has a space heater running wherever he's sitting and I have a personal fan beside me at all times. LOL!
Thursday was the last day of recent warmer weather and our two Goldendoodles, Cooper and Murphy, were enjoying being outdoors.
Our leaves are about gone, here's a photo I snapped this past week - the view from our back deck.
On a more personal note, hubby came through his surgery just fine and by early December will be back to lifting, pulling, and tugging without restrictions. He's really itching to start work on the wiring in his hobby pole barn.
Me? Shoulder is about 90-95%, so not complaining. I got a DEXA bone scan done this month. Back in the early 2000s, I was diagnosed with osteopenia. I never thought much more about it but my PCP noticed my last scan was in 2015. I didn't expect to see much difference so all the prior ones were unchanged. Nope! Now I'm diagnosed with osteoporosis. I'll see my PCP today for a treatment plan. I know it's progressive but it can be slowed.
That's about it, so dive on in! There are some great books and promotions listed below. Now it's time for me to get back to writing!

Who would have thought that a single photograph would be so dangerous?
After attending her first day of workshops at Photofest, the ultimate photography convention, Seddy discovers her hotel room has been ransacked. Her new love interest seems very eager to help her while the local detective keeps asking her questions about her camera. To make matters worse, the chief of police keeps giving her strange looks.
And then someone tries to kill her.
Could an old-fashioned ballgown be used to commit murder?
Daiyu Wu is aware that fear of the Yellow Terror has made her nationality a rare breed in the Lone Star State. Being Chinese and blind makes her doubly unique in 1930: Dallas. Despite these impediments, anyone who dismisses her for either fact does so at their peril.
Dai believes someone has committed murder and the perpetrator is trying to use the family-owned business, White Laundry, to hide the evidence. But no mention of foul play turns up in the newspapers, and there's not enough proof to convince the police there's been a crime.
Dai ignores the possible consequences and sets out to solve the mystery with the help of her canine companion, Prince Razor, and her confidant, Jacques Haskins. It's either that or let the killer get away with it — assuming a spoiled popinjay, his jealous self-appointed girlfriend, and Dai's overprotective parents don't get in her way.
