Join us in celebrating our 7th Birthday. We opened the doors of Day Zero on High Street, Buxton on 1st December 2018. 

We’ve changed a lot in seven years. If you have a look at some google images of our shop when we opened, the place looks very different, but rather than focus on all the changes we made since we started out, this time, our message is about what’s been happening this year. 

Some of you will have seen our social media posts in the last couple of months and will therefore know how difficult trade has been for us in 2025. But, by embracing the vulnerability of speaking honestly publicly about what has been going on, we’ve felt a keen response from you and a stronger connection. 

Going back a few months, finding myself with unsustainable stress levels, for the first time I considered that perhaps it was right to walk away and do something else. The most upsetting part was in knowing that we’ve been doing something of real value for several years, but not being seen in doing so, not generating enough support to make it work. 

But here’s the thing. I’ve often tried to tell you that you have all the power to make a difference and you’re the reason that we’re here. Perhaps the next part of my message will really bring that home to you. In the last two months there has been a lovely response from this community, we’ve had such great messages of support and more of you have shopped with us. Your decision to shop with us is moving us from a place of wondering whether to call it quits to a completely difference place, a place where trade is better and we feel the support for what we do. 

Thank you for this, it brings us hope after 7 years of business. So, the take home message from this tale really is that you are absolutely, completely able to make the difference. Yes, you!

So many of you are telling us that you want what we do to be a part of your community and it’s always completely in your collective hands to make this happen, now and in the future. 

And right now, we’re geared up for the Christmas season, our shelves are bursting, so come in and gift shop with us and have a fresh look at what we do.
