Hope you got chance to enjoy the sun over the last weekend. A few of our customers have enjoyed a lovely bottle of organic wine in the sun recently, and we've just restocked our wine section, so pop in and have a look at the range. Many of our wines are low or no added sulphur and every one we've tried has been really lovely. We can definitely recommend a few, just ask when you call in.

Did you know that up to 40% of food is wasted? Buy from us though where you can get just what you need on refill rather than having to buy a big bag of lentils, three peppers wrapped in plastic or a whole plastic bag of apples when you only need 4 and you can do your bit.

Wonder what goes on behind the scenes? Do you think we must chuck a fair bit of fruit and veg away? Well, that might be the norm for that type of product, but we've worked really hard on a system where actually we only throw away food that's bad on arrival with us (which is rare) or the occasional fruit that degrades while on sale. We sell out pretty much every time and if we ever have excess we will always make sure it gets used by a local food bank.

Won't keep you much longer so you can get your order in and watch the footy if that's on your list for today, just a couple of reminders

• Remember to let us know two weeks ahead of planned breaks when you won't be ordering veg from us. That allows us to adjust our own ordering, and it's pretty important that all our regulars are on board with this so we keep waste as close to zero as possible.
• Keep spreading the word about what we're doing as we'd really like to see more people refilling with us. We have all sorts of help to helping you shop with us, so if access or carrying your goodies home is an issue we can deliver or you can leave your shopping here and call past in your car and we'll bring it out to you.
