Our superpower as consumers has to be that we get to shape what's on offer in the area we live. As we step through the door of a local branch of a massive company, we're supporting that business to do more of what it does, and at the same time are voting against the smaller local business we could be standing in.

If we choose the smaller, locally owned businesses, not only do we get to see them stick around, but more money stays and circulates in our local area. You don't need to analyse this too deeply to see that there's a big difference between the profit a business makes disappearing out of the local area to pay a board of directors or else supporting a local business owner to continue to live and work in their local patch.

So, on that note, one of our aims is to have local products on our shelves at Day Zero. This week we've added gin from Blue John Distillery, and having sampled them we're really happy to be adding them to our range.
