With politics dominating the week, you'd be forgiven for not realising we're now in Plastic Free July. The annual campaign draws our attention to uneccesary plastic waste and what we can do to reduce what we use and what we throw away.

A big idea that needs to take root in our hearts and minds is that plastic has it's uses and we should really make use of it well rather than seeing it as a disposable material. Are there ways of re-using what we already have?

Of course, that's a huge reason that businesses like ours exist, we're here to provide a community with the means of shopping without generating new plastic waste. Here you can always bring in a bag, tub, jar, container or bottle of your choice and shop for the ingredients and cleaning products that you need. You'll be a part of a wonderful group of people when you do, all committed to making a change together.

So, plastic free July is a great time to take whatever the next steps are for you or even your very first tentative step into this plastic free world. You're not alone, just pop in for a chat, we've loads of advice and can give you ideas on easy changes you can make at home.

Huge thanks to all of you who are supporting our organic veg box scheme or buying your fruit and veg in-store. We're doing a really decent amount of veg boxes each week at the moment, and we appreciate your loyalty so much.

Thanks to those of you who are keeping us up to date on your planned breaks. Knowing when you're going to be away and not ordering a box from us is really helping us keep to our aim of being as close to zero waste as possible.

I'll keep mentioning this, but do let us know a couple of weeks in advance of any breaks, and in return we can keep this system going where you can order your veggies and have it delivered just a couple of days later. Cheers.
