Hi

First up this time, our friends at Transition Buxton are running a Buxton Energy Show on Sunday 20th April at the Octagon in Buxton. If you're intrested in keeping your home warmer or talking to someone who has switched to driving an electric vehicle, then this and much more is on offer. More details are available here.

And now, we bring you the return of Isle of Wight tomatoes! We have really decent tomatoes all year round which we're so fortunate to have, but we REALLY relish (pun intended!) the months when we get our hands on the oh so sweet tomatoes from Isle of Wight Tomatoes. They're back this week in the shop, so come and get some from Friday, but don't leave it too late as they tend to get snapped up quickly. This week we'll have the cherry vine tomatoes, but and we'll get the heritage varieties in soon afterwards too.

To celebrate their return here's a really simple recipe from their site for Roasted Isle of Wight cherry tomatoes.

What you need

  • 500g fresh isle of wight cherry tomatoes
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • your favourite herbs or balsamic vinegar to finish

Method - Heat the oven to 200C/180C fan. Slice the tomatoes in half and spread them out on a baking tray. Lightly drizzle a really decent quality olive oil over them. Roast them for 20 mins or until they look lightly roasted. When they're done, mix in your favourite herb, or combine with pasta, soup or a sandwich.

I'll wrap things up there with that recipe as I'm pretty tired today and going to get a bit of sunshine while it's on offer. Here's a nice shiny button to take you over to our site to place an order. See you next time.
