Hi There, Readers!
It'll be a busy couple weeks beginning this weekend, so I'm working ahead as much as I can on book writing and home stuff.
Two grand girls celebrate their birthdays this weekend so there's a party on the calendar. My husband and I took the soon-to-be five-year-old for her Princess for the Day outing last weekend. She wanted to paint pottery where she chose a trophy to paint (so true to her personality). Then she wanted Jimmy Johns for lunch, a Crumbl cookie for dessert, and hair clips and keychains for her backpack at Hobby Lobby. She and my hubby took naps in the car on the way home. If I wasn't driving I wouldn't have minded one, either.
We'll have a quick trip to Iowa City for my hubby's surgery follow-up next week, then we'll take a road trip to Texas to see our youngest son graduate with a Ph.D. in geology at UT-Austin. That same weekend, there's a pre-wedding party planned to celebrate him and our soon-to-be daughter-in-law. Their June wedding will be here in a blink!
There's a tentative date on the calendar now for Hearts and Homecomings to head to the editor, and "tentative" can't be overstated at this point. I haven't had a good chunk of time to get into The Zone with this book. Maybe it's God's way of telling me to slow down, that I have too much on my plate. I'm working with my eye on that date, though. We'll see if I make the deadline or not.
For now, here's a sneak peek at Cash Goodwin, the brooding Mr. Fix-It who comes to Rory's rescue when former tenants leave her rental in ruins.
Cash’s nerves hummed. It was part of coming home; it had always been like that. He’d stewed the whole way from Iowa City to Port Chance, feeling the pulse in his neck quicken as he passed the road signs.
Port Chance 30 miles.
Port Chance 11 miles.
By the time he’d rolled up to the Shoppe of Curious Goods, his body buzzed with adrenaline.
It shouldn’t have to be like this.
But the pretty artist he’d bumped into had put a different spin on the usual tense reunion with his dad.
What was her name again? Rory, that’s it. He said it aloud in the silence, liking how it sounded. Maybe they'd run into each other again. He wouldn't mind that one bit.
I can't wait for you to meet Cash when Hearts and Homecomings finally releases. Here's the link to the first four books in the Port Chance series. They're in Kindle Unlimited, too!

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT
This year I'm featuring a new author in each newsletter with a free novella to sample, too.
Today I'm thrilled to shine the spotlight on Josephine Beintema. In case you haven't met her before, here's more about this sweet romance author from her bio on Amazon:
Josephine Beintema was born in London, Ontario, Canada. She is the youngest of seven children to immigrant parents from the Netherlands.
She has always been passionate about writing and often says that while her main characters are mapped out, her secondary characters like to come and steal the scene!
Josephine loves to travel with her Boston Terrier named Bean. Their favourite places include hiking through forests, amazing mountain views, and the beach.
She's offering Pride & Promises: a SnowDrop Inn prequel to readers today. Visit her on her YouTube channel to learn more about her books, and don't forget to download her FREE novella below in the Book Recommendations area.
