Happy Wednesday, Dear Readers!
I'm doing a little armchair traveling today.
So far, I've been to Cedar Falls, Iowa, Savannah, Georgia, Peoria, Illinois and Deadwood, South Dakota. Phew! I've had a busy morning.
What I'm really doing is a little homework for author events in 2027 (yes, I'm working waaayyy ahead of time because these things are booked fast!). I love meeting readers face-to-face, but finding the time to prep and travel to these book events as much as I like hasn't been possible the last couple years. Is there an author event near you that you've attended and would like to put on my radar? Let me know!
Hearts and Homecomings (Port Chance Book #5) is coming along nicely! For those who are up-to-date on reading the series, you might remember Rory Hilt, the artist friend of Sadie Wendell in Christmas in Port Chance. This next book will be Rory's story. I'm hoping for a May release date, but we'll see. If I get to the point I want to be at by this time next month, I'll plan the cover reveal and a little pre-release giveaway.
For now, here's a bookish collage to whet your reader's appetite:
If the Port Chance series is new to you, here's the link to the first four books in the series. They're in Kindle Unlimited, too!

Cowboys, earls, dashing rescue workers. Small town, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, and more! All the swoony heroes are here in this collection of romances, and your favorite tropes, too! You won't find any spice between these covers, but they ARE filled with all the sweet moments closed door readers adore.

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT
This year I'm featuring a new author in each newsletter with a free novella to sample, too.
Today I'm thrilled to shine the spotlight on Jill Burrell!
From Amazon: Jill Burrell is an author of sweet, small-town romances full of faith, hope, and family. She has always been an avid reader, and romance has always been her favorite genre. If she’s not writing or folding laundry, her head is usually in a book.
When her father told her, “I’ve got a story I want you to write,” she didn’t think she’d ever actually do it. But after twenty years of being a stay-at-home mom with seven children, the idea of writing and publishing a book sounded less terrifying than entering the workforce again. Boy, was she wrong!
Visit her website to see all of her books: https://www.jillburrell.com, and don't forget to download her FREE novella, It's Complicated, below in the Book Recommendations area.

I picked up another non-fiction book this week at the library which was recommended to me called The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. It's about how iPhones, social media, and interacting with peers online and through electronic devices vs. in person has shaped Gen Z and their mental health. It's by no means a light read as you can imagine by the title, but an eye opening one. Highly recommended!
