Our granddaughter had her first T-ball game tonight. My cheeks still hurt from smiling the whole time. It's hard not to feel joy when looking out at a baseball infield filled with twelve 4- and 5-year-olds most of whom are sitting in the dirt, playing with rocks and inspecting bugs, while two coaches coax a batter to hit the ball instead taking it off the T to throw it.

Starting a new book is a little like a T-ball game. The components of plotting a story, like trying to wrangle littles on the baseball field, is pleasantly chaotic. So many moving parts, so many possible outcomes. I'm now fully into writing Book 1 of the new series. I'll be sharing the title and series name as well as the cover before the month is out. At the moment, writing the book summary is giving me fits. I've never liked trying to condense a 60,000-word novel into 150 words!
