ChatGPT has been the major talking point of many, not only in the tech industry but also in the media, education, and practically every other industry as they are all affected by its abilities. It is an AI powered chat bot, developed by OpenAI, which uses data collected over many from the internet to answer questions and write texts based on commands in normal language, which are inputted by the user.

Many people have raised concerns about ChatGPT eliminating the jobs of writers and editors, but today I decided to use it to my advantage instead. Below is an article that was written purely by ChatGPT off of a single sentence as an instruction. I did not edit it at all, so this is the fully raw article.

Solar energy has been on the rise in South Africa in recent years, and it's poised to play a major role in the country's future. This clean and renewable energy source has numerous benefits, including lower electricity costs, improved energy security, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. The South African government has set ambitious goals for the expansion of solar energy, and it's clear that this industry is going to play a crucial role in the country's future.

One of the main reasons that solar energy is so important for South Africa is that it offers a solution to the country's energy crisis. South Africa has suffered from a chronic shortage of electricity, which has hampered its economic growth and put a strain on its energy grid. Solar energy, however, has the potential to help solve this problem by providing a reliable and cost-effective alternative to traditional sources of electricity. With the help of solar panels, South Africa can generate electricity from the sun, which is abundant and free. This will help to reduce the strain on the country's energy grid, improve energy security, and reduce the need for expensive imports of fossil fuels.

Another benefit of solar energy is that it can help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which are a major contributor to climate change. South Africa is one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gases in the world, and it has committed to reducing these emissions in line with the Paris Agreement on climate change. Solar energy can help to achieve this goal by providing a clean and renewable alternative to fossil fuels, which are the main source of greenhouse gas emissions in South Africa. By transitioning to solar energy, South Africa can significantly reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future.

The South African government has set ambitious goals for the expansion of solar energy in the country. In 2019, the Department of Energy announced plans to add 11 GW of solar energy to the grid by 2030, which is expected to provide electricity to millions of people and help to reduce the country's dependence on fossil fuels. The government has also launched several initiatives to support the development of the solar energy industry, including tax incentives, grants, and subsidies for households and businesses that install solar panels.

In conclusion, solar energy is poised to play a major role in South Africa's future. With its numerous benefits, including lower electricity costs, improved energy security, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions, solar energy is the solution that South Africa needs to overcome its energy crisis and contribute to a more sustainable future. The government has set ambitious goals for the expansion of solar energy, and with the right support and investment, the country is well on its way to a bright and sustainable future powered by the sun.
