Welcome, new folks!image

Hi, there. If you've joined the mailing list recently, I want to make sure you get your free Frosthelm book, Traitors Unseen. If you haven't gotten it, you can get it free here (the site will ask you to sign up for this newsletter, which you're already getting) or here from Smashwords. It's also on Apple BooksKobo, and Barnes & Noble. Please, enjoy with my compliments.

Get your Got Trouble!

I thought I'd write you a day earlier than the first of the month this time to let you know that my thriller, Got Trouble, is free for the next couple of days. Here's the blurb:

When your day starts at 11 pm, it’s a long way to sunrise. Glynnis Cary is stuck working as a night manager at the Gas-O-Mart. Her husband Keith’s idea of romance is buying her grocery store flowers, usually only when he comes home drunk. Her son is in trouble at school, skipping out with his girlfriend, and keeping secrets. Big secrets, ones that may turn out to be both lucrative and felonious. Keith’s bumbling unexpectedly makes Glynnis the target of multiple murderous enemies and a lot of bullets. Way more bullets than is reasonable. On the run with a new friend, one whose life she’s just inadvertently destroyed, Glynnis has to rely on her gut, her grit, and her ability to spin big lies to find a way to survive.

Got Trouble is a new novel of suspense, thrills, humor, and one woman's attempt to just have something go right. For once. For crying out loud.

Join the 6,000 other people who've gotten a copy! This kind of giveaway gives you a big (but fleeting) rise in the Amazon sales rankings, which is fun to watch, even if it will only last a few days. I hit #2 in Thrillers yesterday.

Update on Kenai

Kenai is days away! I have the final copy-editing version back from Tami, my awesome editor/proofreader, and I just need to implement her recommendations and then package it all up for publication. I hope to have it out by the end of the week. I'm so excited to share it with you.

Some stories to try

I'm part of several author collectives, and we share each other's work to try to help all of us reach more readers. In many cases, the books we share are are free or discounted. Sometimes, they ask that you sign up for a newsletter like this one. Here are some new books and collections I have to share this month:

First, I have Conspiracy by Edita Petrick. Set on a tourist world, it explores political machinations between the exploiters and the exploited. And also galactic warlords, who are always cool. Only $0.99 to try this new series.

Next, I have a preview of Call of the Siren by Scarlett Evans, a story about a timid woman with a secret power, living a nondescript life in the modern world. Then all (literal) hell breaks loose, with bloodsucking monsters and witches, and she needs to step up or die trying.

Next up is Star Runaway by Chris Turner. A simple musician takes on a delivery job on a distant world that turns into something much more (and much worse) than he imagined. Free to try this first book in Chris' series.

Next up is Mikhail Gladkikh's Thread of Lies, a short mystery/thriller with a grizzled detective set at a ski resort. Get it for free!

There are also some group sales this week, including a whole set of 21 humorous sci-fi and fantasy books, all of which are free on Kindle Unlimited:

And finally, I have a group of 57 fantasy and sci fi books and collections, all free for you to try. There are a whole bunch of really talented folks represented here.

Thank you!

Thank you for subscribing! I hope you'll grab a free copy of Got Trouble today or tomorrow. Please, feel free to share the link with anybody you think might like it.

And be on the lookout for Kenai later this week! A whole new sci-fi adventure in a distant future, led by a gritty ex-marine just trying to stay alive.

May the Bloodmother watch over you -

Dave
